New entry at the Norisring – Christopher Zoechling

Not for nothing the Norisring is called the “Franconian Monaco”: On the only 2.3 kilometres long street circuit in the heart of Nürnberg the wheat is separated from the chaff. Just ahead of the race weekend of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in the Bavarian city, Konrad Motorsport has got a new reinforcement on board. The 25-year-old Christopher Zöchling, like already at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, will be at the start for the team from the German Verl.

“Recently after the race at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife we had a test in Hockenheim which was quite successful”, says Christopher Zöchling, who will be behind the wheel of the Konrad-Porsche for the remaining ten rounds of the Porsche Carrera Cup. “I am really pleased that the team trusts in me. To be honest, it’s a great honour for me to compete for a traditional team like Konrad Motorsport.”

Already at his Carrera Cup debut behind the wheel of the Konrad Porsche on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife Zoechling claimed a strong 10th rank, but with the Norisring a completely new challenge is now waiting for him. “I know the Nordschleife from numerous races for the VLN Endurance series, but at the Norisring I will tread uncharted territories. Nevertheless I feel quite confident. If everything works well another top-10 finish could be possible”, explains Zoechling, who in the past gained lots of experiences in single seater’s and later on with sports cars in the VLN Endurance series.

Team manager Franz Konrad is looking forward to the cooperation with Christopher Zoechling. “We feel quite confident about working together with him. Our team is pleased that Christopher is on board for the remaining Carrera Cup rounds of the year.”
