Qualifying result provides a confident feeling for 12h of Sebring

In this years edition of the 12 hours race in Sebring the team Dempsey Racing / Konrad Motorsport starts from grid positions nine and thirteen into the race. With that the team around Patrick Dempsey and Franz Konrad claimed a solid base for the second round of the TUDOR USCC series. Now the drivers aim for further improvements in the course of the race.

After the qualifying session one could really see the relief in Christian Engelharts’ face. “I am really happy that we were able to reasonably shorten the gap to the top”, said the German, who claimed ninth position in the starting grid. After the 27-year-old and his team mates struggled with some problems before, it went considerably better in the qualifying for the well attuned team. “Now we have to tie to this performance also in the race.”

Franz Konrad looks forward to the race ambitiously as well. “We were able to sort out some things and made progress in every single session”, says the team boss, who also gives a hint on the very important role the tyres play in the endurance classic. “The wear on this track is quite high and we really have to take care of the rubber during the stints.”
