Podium success for Konrad Motorsport in the Belgium Ardennes

Klaus Bachler snatched the third rank in the seventh round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in Spa-Francorchamps. With that the Austrian claimed the first podium finish for Konrad Motorsport in the current season of the fastest international one make cup. His two team mates Christopher Zöchling and Christian Engelhart after collisions ended up with a disappointing result.

It was a boundless joy for Klaus Bachler after he had claimed the third rank on the demanding roller coaster in Belgium. “That really took a load off my mind”, the 23-year-old shone after the race. “So far it was a difficult season for us. However, despite some setbacks we worked really hard, made good progress and finally I am back on the podium again. Thanks to my team for a great Job.”

Bachler laid the corner stone for his success already in the initial phase of the race. While there was a lot of action in the top group at the start, the Austrian kept cool and managed to stay away from all the trouble. The Konrad Motorsport driver improved from fifth to third position in the first lap. “After that I focused on defending my position”, the youngster takes a look back on the race. In the overall standings of the championship Klaus Bachler improved from seventh to third position.< /p>

Bachlers team mate Christopher Zöchling was on a good way to confirm the great team performance of Konrad Motorsport. Driving on fourth position, the 26-year-old became a victim of the over-motivated Porsche Junior Sven Müller. After some paint-swapping at the half-time of the race, Zöchling dropped back in the field. For Christian Engelhart the seventh round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup was already over after only one lap. The German became a victim of the turbulent first lap of the race and had to stop his 460 hp strong Porsche after a collision.

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup now turns onto the finish straight of the season. The fastest one make cup on September 7th travels to Monza, having its last round this year on European ground. The double header of the season final then takes place in course of the American Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.
