With great optimism to the Lausitzring

Ahead of the two rounds at the circuit in the Brandenburg region the racing team from the German Verl is in a promising position: Christian Engelhart covers second rank in the driver standings, Rolf Ineichen even leads the standings in the amateur classification of the championship. Youngster Felipe Fernández Laser also wants to tie to his strong performance of the initial phase of the season.

“We are travelling to the Lausitzring with best memories”, remembers Franz Konrad. Last year Konrad’s driver and Porsche Junior Michael Christensen clinched his first ever podium in the Porsche brands cups at the super modern racetrack. With that in his mind, Konrad feels quite confident: “During the first races of the season we were quite successful. At the Lausitzring we want to conquer another podium this year.”

First of all it is Christian Engelhart, who is meant to claim another good result in the fight for the championship title. With 71 points, the man from the German Kösching currently ranks second in the driver standings of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. After the 26-year-old finished second at the last round on the Red Bull Ring, his goal for the Lausitzring are further podiums. “We don’t have to hide ourselves this year. We want to fight for the victory next weekend.” Also Rolf Ineichen has a clear aim: The Swiss wants to defend his lead in the popular B-Classification of the championship. Felipe Fernández Laser, who covered a strong fourth rank in Austria, is quite confident as well. “The two races in Styria were real fun for me, this weekend I want to give a proof of my skills once more”, says the youngster.

All the fans, being not able to watch the action live at the spot, may be pleased about a comprehensive TV-Coverage about the races of the Carrera Cup at the Lausitzring. German TV-Station Sport1 comes up with a summary of the event already on Sunday Afternoon at 15.15pm. All the highlights of the weekend will be transmitted by n-tv on Monday, June 17th, at 18.30pm.
