Konrad Motorsport very optimistic before Daytona

Konrad Motorsport goes back to the USA: Already in the past the racing team from Verl
participated in American motorsports, now the “Rolex 24 at Daytona” should become another highlight in team’s history. After successful test days in America, Franz Konrad and his squad look forward to the prestigious endurance classic at the coast of Florida. In Daytona Konrad Motorsport wants to take the victory.

„We are dying for the race in America to come around and expect to have good chances,” says a confident Franz Konrad. The team principal formed an impressive line-up of Nick Tandy, Christian Engelhart, Michael Christensen and Lance Willsey. “In Daytona we cooperate with the locals of Orbit Racing. This should make our package even more competitive”, Konrad explains.

Not without reason the team principal is more optimistic than ever: During the official test-days for the Daytona 24 hours Konrad Motorsport impressed with a strong performance and great lap-times. Porsche-Works-Driver Nick Tandy reviews: “The tests went really well. I hope that we can build on that performance and fight for the victory in the race.” The challenging racetrack in Florida is not new to the Brit: Already in 2011 the 28-year-old
participated in the famous endurance race, which was held for the first time in 1966.

Especially Michael Christensen is in great anticipation of the endurance classic. The Porsche-Junior gained a lot of attention when he managed to win a race in the Porsche Carrera Cup in 2012. Now the young Dane eagerly awaits his first start at a 24-hour-race: “I am extremely looking forward to the unique atmosphere in the USA. It is a pleasure to be part of such a strong team.”

Christian Engelhart is another Porsche expert in Konrad Motorsport’s line-up. In 2012 the student fought for the title in the ADAC GT Masters until the last race – the Daytona 24 hours is the next challenge for him. But Engelhart knows that it is going to be hard: “This race is one the most challenging events in motorsports. Already at the test days it became clear that the competition is extremely strong.” But also Konrad Motorsport is strong –
therefore Christian Engelhart is as optimistic as his team-mates: “Our aim is clear: We want to fight for the top
positions.”
