Konrad Motorsport to present its squad for the 2014 season

Konrad Motorsport is starting into the European Motorsport Season with an extraordinarily large squad. This long-standing racing stable will send three vehicles each into the Porsche Mobile 1 Supercup and the German Porsche Carrera Cup. With Christian Engelhart, the two Austrians Klaus Bachler and Christopher Zoechling as well as Rolf Ineichen from Switzerland, Franz Konrad’s team is presenting a first-class squad. The aim is clear: Konrad Motorsport’s drivers are supposed to fight for top positions and championship points in the brand new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

Christian Engelhart is particularly keen on winning the championship title in the Porsche Carrera Cup. In 2013, he gained three victories in Germany’s most competitive one-make-cup, managed to become runner-up and is now aiming at the title: “I’m sure we’re going to compete at the top of the field. Of course it’s my aim to become champion”, says the 27-year-old. He is also going to compete in the international Porsche Supercup.

With Porsche-junior Klaus Bachler, Konrad Motorsport is recording an ambitious new entry. Next to the German championship, Klaus Bachler is going to start in Formula 1’s Porsche Supercup. In 2013, the 22-year-old came in on first position in this highly competitive championship, proving his expertise in racing. Now his plan is to compete regularly for top positions in the Porsche one-make-cups. “Being able to drive for such an experienced team is the perfect start into the new season. I got to know the new Porsche 911 already last year, which makes me optimistic”, summarises Bachler.

Christopher Zoechling is facing a new challenge in 2014. After a successful Porsche Carrera Cup, the 26-year-old is moving up to Supercup. “I’m really looking forward to the tests in Barcelona. Of course many of the tracks on the agenda are completely new for me. However, with the support of Franz Konrad’s team I’ll get myself prepared for this”, says Zoechling, who is living near London.

Rolf Ineichen completes the team. The Konrad Motorsport-driver gained his last victory in the Porsche Carrera Cup’s B-classification and would like to repeat this remarkable success in 2014. In order to be prepared for this he did a lot of racing during the winter break. The Swiss driver competed in several races in Florida and won the Dubai 24 Hours.

The team’s boss Franz Konrad is looking towards the new season with great ambitions: “We are proud to present such a strong team. I’m convinced that our drivers are going to be among the fastest. That’s why we would like to fight for the overall victory not only in the drivers’ but also in the teams’ ranking. ”
