Franz Konrad starts in Sebring

There shall be things one is never to old to do: One of them is to participate in the 12 hours race in Sebring. At this years edition of the endurance classic Franz Konrad himself will take a seat behind the wheel of the Porsche. The Austrian belongs to the most successful drivers in the history of the endurance race in Florida. The 62-year-old claimed already three victories in Sebring.

At the second round of the TUDOR USCC Franz Konrad will share the cockpit of a Porsche 911 GT America with the Swiss Rolf Ineichen as well as with the German Christian Engelhart. “I am really looking forward to the race. I love this track”, the team manager is full of anticipation. The former race professional sat behind the steering wheel in Sebring already at the tests during the winter time. “The experience we gained should help us of course.”

The sister car of the team is manned by the Americans Joe Foster, Andrew Davies and Patrick Dempsey. The well attuned trio was able to convince already in the first round of the series in Daytona. However, a good result was impeded by technical problems.

Altogether 66 vehicles have entered the starting list of the second round for the TUDOR USCC. The strongest class of the race is the GTD-Category, in which also the team Dempsey Racing / Konrad Motorsport starts. Altogether 26 cars will fight for the victory.

Venue for the 12 hours race is the Sebring International Raceway. The track between Orlando and Miami belongs to the American circuits with a rich tradition. The first race on in Sebring took place already in 1952. Also the Formula 1 stopped by already on the bumpy tarmac in Florida. The race is covered live in the American TV.
