Home race at the Red Bull Ring

At the next weekend, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup will have its third championship round of the year, returning to the Austrian Spielberg again for the first time since eleven years. The comeback of the brands cup to Austria means a home race for the team. Team manager Franz Konrad, who resides in Germany, was born in the Styria region in Austrian. “I am looking forward to Spielberg. It’s a good circuit and its only 70 kilometres away from Graz, where I was born. We are really pleased to meet all our Austrian Fans and friends. The race is definitely one on my personal highlights this year.”

Only 20 kilometres away from the race track lives Konrad Motorsport driver Klaus Bachler, who wants to claim a podium finish at the weekend. The return of the fastest international one make cup to Styria is a highlight for the Austrian. “Our pace is top, we were able to give a good prove of that already in Barcelona and in Monaco. I know what I have to do to make a podium became true. The team is working hard and our cars are really quick. I hope I can reward the boys for the top-job with a good result this weekend. Every time at the race track, they are working hard until late in the night, to get the cars perfectly prepared. They have deserved a good result, because it’s they best way for a team to be rewarded”, the 22-year-old local hero is pleased.

Also Christopher Zöchling returns into his home country highly motivated. In the round on the unique race track in Spielberg, the Austrian native wants to make a further improvement in the driver standings of the championship. Without home advantage, but also highly competitive, the third driver of the team, Christian Engelhart is at the start in Austria. The automotive engineer is just a few points away from the lead in the championship.
