Best result this season for Klaus Bachler in Hockenheim

At the Grand Prix of Germany on the Hockenheimring, Konrad Motorsport driver Klaus Bachler claimed fourth rank in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The Austrian made constant progress in the fifth round of the year and finally snatched his best result in the current season of the Supercup. Team mate Christian Engelhart shone with a great fighting spirit and finished on seventh position. At halftime of the season the German’s chances for the title win are still alive.

Klaus Bachler gets along better and better: The Austrian, who goes through his first season with Konrad Motorport, in Hockenheim tied on to the upwards trend of the last races. Started from sixth position in the grid, the 22-year-old battled in the top group over the entire distance of fourteen laps. A few laps before the chequered flag came out, Bachler first managed to pass championship leader Kuba Giermaziak, and later on also the former Formula 1 test driver Michael Ammermüller. “My team provided me with a car, which was perfect over the complete distance. I was able to push even in the last laps and improved two positions”, the Konrad driver was pleased after the race.

Also Christian Engelhart was satisfied with the outcome of the race. “Considering that I had to start from ninth position, seventh place is a good result for me. My pace in the race was quite good. Our aim for the future is to improve in the qualifying”, explained the automotive engineer. The Bavarian experienced a scary moment at the beginning. The Brit Ben Barker miss-braked ahead of him, left the track, and hit the back of Engelhart’s Porsche, when he came back onto the track. Fortunately the collision had no consequences and the Konrad driver could continue with his fight for positions.

The weekend took a rather disappointing course for Christopher Zöchling and Rolf Ineichen. While Zöchling finished twelfth and at least scored some points for his credit, his team mate from Switzerland retired already early from the race. After a collision with the Netherlander Bas Schothorst, which was not the fault of Ineichen, the Konrad Motorsport driver had to stop already in the first lap.

From the Hockenheimring, the team Konrad Motorsport directly travels to the next round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup to the Hungaroring at the gates of Budapest. In the course of the Hungarian Grand Prix the drivers of the team want to get back on the podium again. Especially Christian Engelhart is highly motivated for the sixth race of the year. In the 2012 season the German snatched the victory on the circuit near the Hungarian capital.
